AMD- Strix Halo a local AI powerhouse for consumers

I recently came across some amazing hardware and bough one myself. I think AMD does some great stuff for consumers and their ability to run up to 200 Billion parameter MoE (Model of Expert) LLMs locally on a small footprint on this chips. With the Ryzen AI Max+ series codenamed "Strix Halo", AMD has delivered a processor that redefines what a System-on-Chip (SoC) can be for Windows and Linux laptops and desktops. The flagship Ryzen AI Max+ 395 unifies CPU, GPU, and AI accelerator on a single die. An architecture that, only Apple had truly perfected with its M-series chips. It costs less than the Apple products and has a lot of other advantages like being able to run Linux, a developer community and lot's of people trying to tweak the systems capabilities. For AI researchers, data scientists, and developers working with local models, this is transformative. Apple's M4 Max offers a similar unified memory advantage (up to 128 GB), but its GPU compute throughput is lower for these specific workloads, and AMD's ROCm ecosystem has matured considerably for LLM inference and is improving.
