Vital Farms acknowledges that the majority of their net revenue comes from sales of their shell egg products. As of December 2024, they distribute through third parties and direct to retailers to reach approximately 24,000 stores. These include brands such as: Whole Foods, Sprouts, Kroger, Target, Publix, Albertson's, and Walmart. Currently they are estimating to be at $1 Billion !! in net revenue by 2027. Looking at the current trend of revenue growth i see this as an achievable target.
I started looking into this company as a health conscious consumer who has been buying their eggs and butter for years. Their eggs are noticeably higher quality than their competitors. Egg shells are sturdier, egg yolks darker, and maybe this is a placebo but i think tastier as well. That being said their eggs are significantly more expensive than others. With their growing revenue stream and the shift of consumers to health conscious and longevity focused, i see them as well positioned to continue capitalizing on this shift of culture in the consumer even with an elevated price point relative to other products.
