Humanoid Robotics’ Next “Gorilla?”

Ever since Google sold Boston Dynamics to SoftBank, and in turn SoftBank sold it to Hyundai Kia (great cars these days), I’ve been really curious where and how this space shakes out. I know that once AGI (artificial general intelligence) is mostly achieved, it’ll take nothing to convince people to bring one into their homes.

I was baffled at the idea that Google would sell such an innovative business but it could be that they saw it as too much of a long-shot for their timelines and budget. After all, as of today, we are still in the earliest of days however, with Tesla and Unitree (Chinese) triumphing in marketing and distribution respectively.

That said, there are many verticals to branch out to for these companies across software (for both autonomous and teleoperation), hardware (actuators, sensors, batteries, and processors), as well as integration into existing supply chains (some business will see the most benefit from simply adopting these humanoid robots).

One of my top ideas would be Meta Platforms harvesting millions of first-person footage from their glasses and VR headsets to help train these humanoid’s neural-nets.

Really curious who you think is absolutely gunning it for the king of humanoid robotic jungle?
