Wife says, "meh"
This isn't exactly a deeply analytical post, but I wanted to share some "anecdotal analysis" (trademark pending).
I polled my wife and two of her girlfriends this past weekend about their opinion of Kohls. In the past my wife has requested Kohls gift cards as a birthday gift from friends and family, so I knew that she was a fan. Apparently, "was" is the key word here. All three of the women I polled shared the same opinion that Kohls "used to be great", but now it's "like going to Walmart. the products are cheap and the selection isn't the same".
Take this information for what it's worth, but it seems that around here Kohls is developing a bad reputation for going downhill in the quality of its products. Hopefully, this is an isolated opinion but if I were heavily invested in the company I would be curious if they have done anything over the past 5 years to change how they operate and leadership is aware that they may have made some mistakes.
