Where the wind blows also Hawaiian shirts can work just about anywhere
Alright, alright, so you want to make money and implement Buffett-style investing? Just one big problem: I do not live in the US. Well, you have come to the right place. You do not always end up in the right place, but with a little bit of ingenuity, you can figure it out.
First step to figuring something out: know where you are. One time I was in Peru or was that the Sahara Desert? I don’t recall, but I do know I was very lost and I didn’t have a car. So, I asked the first person I saw, "Where am I?" They responded, "Chimbote."
Oof, where the heck is that? Well, if you are from Peru or Latin America, you would know that is in South America. Luckily, I was not too threatening wearing a Hawaiian shirt. See, was that hard to do? Yet, when investing, a lot of people come up with reasons why they cannot do something, but we will ask for directions if we are lost.
Back to investing: where are the exchanges?
Well, luckily I know a few, and each one comes with its own rules, guidelines, and unique style of investing. Here are your exchanges:
Europe: Euronext, LSE, SIX, and GPW.
Latin America: nuam exchange (Peru, Colombia, Chile), BYMA.
Asia: JPX, PSE (Philippines).
There are more, but I thought this was a beginners course!
I remember reading an article on a frustrated German citizen up in arms because, on a lunch break, all of the politicians walk across the street and eat lunch with the lobbyists at Siemens. I am not so sure if the same rules apply and if the Bundestag and Siemens Hauptstadtbüro are in the same location, but if that was true, instead of getting upset, that could have been a potential edge ...at least in the short term, until some major corruption scandals broke out.
Oh, and don’t worry, I am no longer stranded in the desert.
See the links below and know the same rules apply but there is always a twist so make sure you do your homework.

As always let me know if I missed something and those who are new to investing from outside of the US welcome. I like you am still a beginner despite my exposure to companies outside the US.
