Current Co-CEOs
Ted Sarandos ($49,834,900): A 60-year-old community college dropout. This guy has loads of passion for the video/home entertainment industry and has been working in it his entire life. He has received multiple honors/awards over the years and is recognized in the industry as an innovator in film acquisition and distribution.
Starting as a teenager, he worked his way up from Arizona Video Cassettes West store clerk to manager and would continue working at the eight-store chain until 1988 when he joined East Texas Distributors, one of the largest video distributors in the USA, and then later as VP of product and merchandising at Video City/West Coast Video, which operated 500 stores. He started at Netflix in 2000 as the Chief Content Officer, a role he still holds today. He helped companies in the past transition from VHS to DVDs and helped Netflix transition from DVDs to streaming as well as spear-headed their original content creation. Started as Co-CEO with Reed in 2020.
Gregory Peters ($40,117,100) He's a 61-year-old tech guy that is big on workspace culture and credited for brokering partnerships (i.e. Tmobile/Verizon, Google, Mastercard, Comcast/AppleTV bundle), building and launching advertising, and pushing deeper personalization. He is currently building out the games initiative.
After graduating from Yale with a B.S. in physics and astronomy and spending a decade bouncing between mostly tech startups working in engineering and consumer electronics products, he joined the Netflix team in 2008 as the Chief streaming and partnerships officer. Rising through the ranks he was appointed Co-CEO in 2023 when Reed transitioned to executive chairman of the board.

Joined Netflix as CFO in Jan 2019.
Netflix announced in Oct 2024 they would be parting ways with their Chief Communications Officer and Public Policy VP to combine the positions...instead they hired Clete Willems in Apr 2025 and are still searching for a head of communications.
Willems joins Netflix from Akin Gump, a prominent law and lobbying firm, after five years. He previously served as deputy assistant for international economics to President Trump in his first term and legal adviser and chief counsel at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative during the Trump and Obama administrations. He'll remain in D.C. and report directly to the Co-CEO, Sarandos.
