I've been working on The Flank Challenge. I'd like your thoughts.
Hey friends,
You may have noticed I’ve been a little lighter on posting analysis recently. My day job has had me traveling the past couple of weeks, and I’ve also been heads-down working on something new called The Flank Challenge.
Before it goes live, I want to share the idea and get your feedback.
At our core, Flank exists to help people become better investors.
And for Flank to thrive long-term, we need to build something that actually does that. Not just something people consume. It’s hard to break away from day-to-day life and sit down to write out your thinking. I’ve struggled with that myself... But it pays off. It's the way to actually start really understanding this stuff. I promise.
With that, I believe, to my bones, that the best and fastest way to become a better investor is through:
consistent learning
mindful study of businesses by writing down your thoughts/analysis/thesis
Consistency is why we've created the Flux feature... so Flankers (including myself!) get rewarded for spending a few minutes each day reading through analysis.
Mindful study of businesses is... well.. what we post on Flank! It's what's eligible for Premium Flux to get paid on Flank! This is actually doing the work of becoming a better investor
The idea for the Flank Challenge is simple... If you do the work, Flank should be free... and it offers an accountability system for those who accept the challenge.
So, The Flank Challenge would give you a FREE Flank Premium membership, PLUS any premium Flux you earn during that month.... and it continues each month you hit the requirements.
The Flank Challenge has 2 requirements:
Hit a 30-day Flux Streak
Research 100% of a Company in those 30-days.
I know not everyone will complete the challenge every month... and that’s okay, there's always next month! But for those who do, I’m genuinely happy to eat the cost of the Flux distributed during that period. I believe it’s good for the community, improves research quality, and helps us build real momentum.
What do y'all think? I will be taking the Flank Challenge myself, and our other co-founders have eagerly agreed as well. "The Founder's Discount" wouldn't be eligible for the Challenge, so only users on the $50/mo subscription would be eligible (anyone can convert)... and of course you could cancel anytime.
Really appreciate everyone being here so early. Y'all are building this with us, and I'm beyond grateful for each of you.
