People want to socialize online where their established network already is and since these platforms are monetized via ads, the data Meta has gathered over the years is vital to advertisers as well as the exposure when people doom scroll.

Yes, Meta develops social media platforms, but they are a tech company and their innovation and secrets moats are obvious.
