What's Their Growth Strategy?
As far as I’m concerned, this business is a conglomerate of consumer-trusted brands with innovation moats. Tactical mergers and acquisitions have always fueled most of its growth. Among these, the kingpin being OXO, or what I regard as the “Apple of Cooking Tools.” OXO has brought unparalleled ergonomics to simple tools, especially serving older generations to this day.
Another two notable brands they’ve acquired recently being Hydro Flask (Steel Technology LLC.) in 2016 and Osprey Packs in 2021. Both very well-liked, reputable names.
It gets me very excited, considering their humble beginnings as an El Paso, TX wig store, the scaling up into what they are today. To me personally, their business strategy is reminiscent of Buffett, and other talented private equity firms.
p.s. I may have some bias as I’d always loved playing with my grandma’s OXO salad spinner.
