Calling Flankers for shared research!

If you want to research a company with me, this could be a great one (especially if you're a beginner - it's hard to find a simpler business model)

That company is Vita Coco-- and honestly, I'm surprised it hasn't been gobbled up by Coca-Cola or Pepsi yet.

They make coconut water. Couldn't be simpler.

Vita Coco is one of those companies that looks deceptively simple on the surface, but the more you poke around, the more interesting it gets.

They basically built the U.S. coconut water category from scratch, turned it into a lifestyle brand, and somehow kept growing even after the early hype wore off. Most beverage trends fade. Vita Coco didn’t.

What caught my eye is how asset-light the model is. They don’t own farms. They don’t own factories. They focus on brand, supply chain relationships, and distribution. It’s a weird mix of scrappy and efficient. And while everyone else in beverages fights brutal competition, Vita Coco carved out this oddly durable niche that still grows in the low double digits.

Revenue has been steadily growing, with 23% growth in the past year

Gross profit margin has been relatively steady... but not perfectly steady.

But, margins are better than you’d expect for something that comes out of a coconut. Cash flow is cleaner than you’d think for a “trend” drink.

And the valuation isn’t crazy relative to its growth, which is rare in consumer packaged goods.

And they ain't got no debt!

Feels like the kind of company that rewards a deeper dive. If anyone here has looked at them already, I’d love to hear what angles you found most compelling.

This one might be worth adding to the research queue... it's going on mine!
