Musk could quit Tesla if this doesn't pass

Tesla shares are down more than 5% today, hours ahead of the highly anticipated shareholder meeting.

The biggest thing is Musks pay package. Tesla’s board has proposed a compensation plan for Musk that could be worth up to about $1 trillion, assuming very ambitious performance targets over the next decade.

One of the largest investors, the Norwegian sovereign wealth fund has recommended shareholders vote against this package.

Proxy advisory firm Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) has recommended shareholders vote against this package, calling it “striking” in magnitude and insufficiently binding in terms of ensuring Musk’s commitment, especially given his involvement in other ventures.

If approved, Musk could dramatically increase his stake and voting control in Tesla (some estimates suggest going from ~13–16% up toward ~25–30%) which shifts governance dynamics

I voted in favor of his package. If he can truly deliver the performance tranches he deserves it.

I took a look at the pay package, and it's insanely hard to hit. 1M robotaxis, 10M FSD users, 20M annual vehicle sales, 1M optimus robots deployed, and incremental market cap valuations up to $8.5T...

While I really don't like the idea of trillionaires walking the Earth, if someone can take a company from <$100M to $8.5T in value over their tenure, it's fair-ish... I think.
