What's Their Growth Strategy?Vertiv has been the market leader in thermal management solutions catering to Hyperscaler Data Center projects.
A recent article that caught my attention was the announcement of a new product Vertiv PurgeRite NearZero that reduces water consumption of data center deployments.
NOTE: This is water consumption during commissioning of a hydronic system (before going live, not during operation), i.e. for cleaning, pressure testing, validating the system, where typically millions of gallons can be ran through the system and dumped.
It caught my attention because a huge criticism of the AI Data Centers is the huge amount of water consumption. So while this doesn't impact the operational cooling systems that continuously move heat (smaller consumption but adds up over life of the systems) it still has a large impact that will be attractive during data center construction.
So when I saw Vertiv's innovation to reduce water consumption was also a unique product in the market I was interested in their growth outlook.

NVIDIA:
A cornerstone of Vertiv’s partner ecosystem is our collaboration with NVIDIA, which spans early architectural alignment, reference design development, and system-level integration. In 2025, we strengthened this partnership to advance the infrastructure necessary for the next generation of data centers and design the reference architectures for AI factories to deploy at speed and at scale. Vertiv’s differentiation lies in our ability to translate NVIDIA’s platform roadmaps into deployable, end-to-end infrastructure solutions.
Caterpillar:
Our collaboration with Caterpillar tackles an industry pacing item: power. Combining Caterpillar and Solar Turbines' on-site power generation with Vertiv's power and thermal management solutions, we are developing pre-designed architectures that enable gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure without grid constraints. This accelerates time-to-power and improves energy efficiency through complete system optimization—compressing deployment timelines from years to months.
Oklo (Nuclear Power):
Vertiv and Oklo have partnered on an innovative clean energy collaboration to co-develop advanced power and thermal management solutions. These solutions are tailored specifically for hyperscale and colocation data centers and would be powered by steam and electricity from Oklo’s nuclear power plants. The industry is moving toward integrated, system-level collaboration and these partnerships position us to power the next generation of AI and high performance computing.
Working directly with a top player in modular nuclear reactor development seems like a great outlook to me. The power hungry hyperscalers have all been in the news as interested in implementing nuclear power for their sites, so if Vertiv is collaborating already I think that has great upside.
