Opendoor Technologies has appointed Kaz Nejatian, the former COO of Shopify, as its new CEO. The company's founders, Eric Wu and Keith Rabois, are also rejoining the board in an effort to return to "founder mode" and stabilize the business. Nejatian's compensation package is heavily tied to the company's stock performance, potentially allowing him to earn up to $2.8 billion if he can significantly increase the share price. He is tasked with transforming Opendoor into an AI-powered real estate platform.

This is the type of stuff shareholders love to see, the CEO wins only if the shareholders win. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.
