Himalaya shipping ltd is a company that own 12 very new (delivered in 2023 and 2024) LNG powered dry bulker Newcastlemax (which is a very large class of dry bulkers that can't go through Suez and Panama canal). Dry bulkers are ships designed to transport dry bulk products like ore, grains or coal. The company lease these ships, through third-party ship managers, OSM and Wilhelmsen, which provides clients. Himalaya still has to pay for crew salary, insurance and maintenance. The price at which they lease their ship depends on the market, which is defined by price per day.
