How Do They Make Money?

Teck is a Vancouver-based mining company with operations throughout Canada, the United States, Mexico, Peru, and Chile (9 operating mines in total).

Teck is one of the world's largest producers of copper, zinc, and steelmaking coal. It makes money by selling these commodities, among others, to customers worldwide.

According to the 2023 annual report from Teck, the company's gross profit comes from:

• Steelmaking coal (57% of revenue)

• Copper (20%)

• Zinc (14%)

• Silver and lead (6%)

• Other by-products (molybdenum, specialty metals, chemicals, and fertilizers (3%)
