What's your Circle of Competence?

As an investor that's recently started taking my investing and researching seriously, one of the first things I've worked on is identifying my circle of competency. I'm interested in literally everything so this has proven quite challenging, but I'm enjoying it immensely and I think it's a worthwhile endevour.

So far, I've done either passive or active research on businesses in the following "industries":

• Aeronautics (Southwest, Airo)

• Defense (Airo)

• Banking (Nu Holdings, working experience)

• Entertainment (researching music tours)

I don't feel like an expert in any of these, they are merely industries that I've had some exposure to and experience researching.

As if this wasn't enough, I'm about to embark on researching an industry that has captivated my interest since I was young - cars. I've loved just about anything with an engine since I can remember.
