Hopefully this post isn’t too low-effort but bear with me as I was blown away by a comment on an Instagram reels post. I never considered Chili’s a particularly excellent business, my family’s had our fair share of guacamole and tacos from there when there was one in my hometown (it’s gone now).

BUT, little did I know, that they had this trailblazer “Senior Vice President of Innovation” over at Brinker International that’s been keeping this smalltime conglomerate into new verticals, transforming Chili’s into ghost kitchens and delivering Chili’s (and their smaller chain Maggiano’s) through ghost kitchens as well. This is to help them take online delivery market share in booming areas like college towns. They’d been pushing these concepts back in 2021 and their margins have remained stable too.

Apparently they also have some wings on their menu that somehow seems to be a restaurant item that is “all-the-rage,” with competitors like Wingstop dominating in their own respect (also through some ghost kitchen initiatives might I add).

Chili’s is hot and ripe for innovation. 🌶️👌
