Who Are The Executives?

Who Are The Executives?

A good amount of Dexcom's leadership has been with DEXCOM for a while and several have worked in the health tech/health services companies, which I see as a positive.

Currently, I've focused on the following:

-Kevin Sayer has been CEO since 2015; prior to CEO he was the COO of DEXCOM (2013-2015). And on the board of directors since 2007. Prior to DEXCOM he was with other health services and health tech companies (3 years with Biosensors International Group, 1 year with Specialty Laboratories, 8 years Medtronic/Minimed). Frustratingly his LinkedIn is not insightful and doesn't have a Wikipedia so I'm finding what I can with Google. He seems to have jumped around a bit initially but has been steady in Dexcom leadership roles for about a little over a decade.

-Jacob Leach (Chief Operating Officer) has been with DEXCOM since 2004. He started as an engineer for 4 years before holding various R&D roles, then CTO from 2018-2022 and took over as COO in August of 2022. Prior to DEXCOM he was an engineer at Medtronic from 1996-2004 (overlapping with CEO Kevin Sayer's time as CFO of the company).

-Paul Flynn has been Executive VP for Global Revenue since 2021 and prior to this he held various management roles as a SVP/VP, General Manager since joining in 2015. Before Dexcom, he was with Johnson and Johnson for 23 including a decade working in the diabetes space with J&J's glucose monitor and insulin pump subsidiaries.

-Girish Naganathan is the CTO. He's only held the role and been with Dexcom since October 2022. Prior to that he was at Technicolor/Vantiva for 12 years. And Seagate for about 12 years before that. So lots of tech experience, though not much with health tech, and only recently been with Dexcom. I'm least jazzed on him from a passion point of view, given background and timeline. I'm also not sure how the COO-CTO working relationship "works." Since the current COO was the last CTO, optimistically I'd like to think he'd be there to offer advice / make sure things don't go off track, but I'm aware that's probably speculating through rose colored glasses.

Overall, so far, I'd say interesting but not compelling either way
