Netflix buying Warner Bros. Discovery

Netflix set to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery's (WBD) film and TV studio assets, including HBO Max, for approximately $82.7 billion (deal excludes WBD's cable networks (CNN, TNT) which will spin off as Discovery Global), combining immense libraries with Netflix's global reach. The merger is expected to close in Q3 2026 after regulatory approval (Netflix will pay $5.8 billion if the deal fails regulatory approval).
