This is adding on to what Dave said earlier but Im convinced the Space X IPO is part of a broader scheme for Elon to inflate his net worth. Its become even more evident that Elon Musk has built himself a financial cult by convincing a bunch of people in private equity that he's the real life Tony Stark. It makes me wonder what they'll do when these business begin collapsing under the weight of their own high valuations. Patrick Boyle did a great video on this.
