How Do They Make Money?

So here’s an overview of Adobe and how they work. They got my attention like all “value” stocks do with their relatively low p/e and a discount rate I liked which I will show in later research. So Adobe is basically a software company that sells creative development tools for people to use. These software tools range as follows.

  • Photo shop for video editing

  • illustrator for vector graphics

  • In design for desktop publishing

  • Premier pro for video editing

  • Acrobat for PDF management

  • Audition for audio editing

  • Dream weaver for web development

  • Fresco for digital art

  • and XD for UI design

Adobe offers these through their SAS (software as a service) model, which is basically taking software you only had to pay for once and making you pay a monthly or annual subscription for it. Aside from this personally pissing me off and reminding me why I like sing linux based tools this seems to be a good business decision based on their earnings. Adobe also has fully integrated these tools into their cloud service, Creative Cloud, which brings more value from the subscription and even offer these services for free to students and businesses who license these products for their employees to use. They call these networks value added resellers, systems integrator and independent software vendors. Adobe has been offering creative software services since 1983 and is still to this day an industry leader.
