Joby Acquiring Blade Air Mobility

I gotta admit, I’m pretty impressed by the forward-thinking management coming out of Joby Aviation here. In acquiring Blade’s passenger business and air-taxi ride-hailing app, they are controlling one more piece of the whole experience, from vehicle-manufacturing to ride-hailing. I’ve demoed Blade’s app but sadly have not had the chance to actual fly with it since helicopter rides are not available where I am.

Broadly-speaking, this could dig a good trench in the space for this vertically integrated upstart.
